O IOPNO realiza auditoria forense de sistemas complexos. Examina como um sistema gasta aquilo que o mantém de pé, as pessoas, os recursos e o ambiente de que depende, e reconstrói esse gasto com evidência documentada. O trabalho corre em cinco escalas, do organismo individual ao sistema planetário. Tudo é publicado gratuitamente, em dois idiomas, e cada texto declara na primeira linha o grau de validação do que afirma, inclusive quando esse grau é baixo. O que é especulativo aparece marcado como especulativo. OINOR conducts forensic audits of complex systems. It examines how a system spends what keeps it standing, the people, resources, and environment it depends on, and reconstructs that spending with documented evidence. The work runs across five scales, from the individual organism to the planetary system. Everything is published free of charge, in two languages, and each text states in its first line the degree of validation of what it claims, including when that degree is low. What is speculative is marked as speculative.

Um sistema complexo se comporta de um modo que nenhum de seus participantes escolheu. A intenção de quem está dentro dele, por isso, diz pouco sobre o resultado. O que se pode medir é o balanço: o que entra, o que é gasto, o que volta. Quando esse gasto recai de forma sustentada sobre aquilo que mantém o sistema de pé, ele passa a se alimentar de si mesmo. É o que se chama regime autofágico. A investigação em curso trabalha com a hipótese de que o sistema civilizacional atravessou esse limiar.A complex system behaves in a way none of its participants chose. The intentions of those inside it therefore say little about the outcome. What can be measured is the balance: what comes in, what is spent, what returns. When that spending falls in a sustained way on what keeps the system standing, it begins to feed on itself. That is what is called an autophagic regime. The investigation under way works from the hypothesis that the civilisational system has crossed that threshold.

O adoecimento em massa entra no registro como falha de quem adoeceu, e o padrão coletivo desaparece dentro de cada prontuário. Outro passa pela atenção, alcançada nas partes mais antigas do cérebro antes que a pessoa tenha tempo de decidir. Há caminhos no sentido, nas instituições e no clima. Cada um pede um instrumento diferente, e todos pedem evidência.To audit is to reconstruct the path that consumption takes: where it passes, at what speed, and over what. One of those paths runs through the body. Mass illness enters the record as a failure of the person who fell ill, and the collective pattern disappears inside each individual chart. Another runs through attention, reached in the oldest parts of the brain before a person has time to decide. There are paths in meaning, in institutions, and in the climate. Each asks for a different instrument, and all of them ask for evidence.
O trabalho parte de material que qualquer pessoa pode consultar: registro público, série histórica, literatura revisada, protocolo. Nada depende de depoimento, e por isso tudo pode ser conferido do começo ao fim.The work starts from material anyone can consult: public records, historical series, reviewed literature, protocols. Nothing depends on testimony, so everything can be checked from start to finish.
A outra metade do trabalho começa quando o relatório fica pronto. Um diagnóstico que não devolve nada ao organismo tem pouca utilidade para quem o recebe. Nosso objeto permanente é a soberania neuro-ontológica: o direito de uma pessoa modelar com precisão os próprios estados cognitivos, e de saber quando eles estão sendo modulados por vias que ela não percebe. A restituição é técnica, e chega em forma de método, protocolo e instrumento verificável.The other half of the work begins once the report is finished. A diagnosis that returns nothing to the organism is of little use to whoever receives it. Our permanent object is neuro-ontological sovereignty: a person's right to model their own cognitive states precisely, and to know when they are being modulated through channels they do not perceive. Restitution is technical, and it arrives as method, protocol, and verifiable instrument.

A primeira metade é o dever de ouvir: acolher o que uma comunidade relata antes de concluir qualquer coisa sobre ela. A segunda é o que essa escuta precisa produzir, a devolução da dignidade a quem o sistema consumiu. O lema une a esfera pública à esfera interior, e afirma que uma sociedade recupera sua medida moral quando faz as duas coisas.The first half is the duty to listen: to take in what a community reports before concluding anything about it. The second is what that listening has to produce, the return of dignity to those the system consumed. The motto joins the public sphere to the inner one, and holds that a society recovers its moral measure when it does both.
